The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Academy is known as one of the world’s best law enforcement training facilities. The training program encompasses intense physical training, conditioning, defensive tactics, leadership, criminal law, law enforcement tactics, vehicle operations, weapons training, policy and procedures.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – Reserve Forces Detail comprises community members who volunteer their time and energy to fulfill many traditionally handled by full-time Deputy Sheriffs. Our Reserve Deputy Sheriffs undergo the same hiring standards as full-time Deputies and work alongside them to support every aspect of the Department’s operations.
